Psycho Las Vegas taps Misfits to fill Saturday-night headliner role

Earlier this month, Megadeth canceled most of its 2019 dates—including a scheduled performance at Psycho Las Vegas—with the announcement that frontman Dave Mustaine had been diagnosed with throat cancer. Today, the festival—set for August 16-18 at Mandalay Bay Events Center—revealed its replacement Saturday-night headliner: New Jersey horror-punk godfathers the Misfits, who have played only a handful of shows since reuniting with original frontman Glenn Danzig in 2016. Those concerts—including a December 2017 stop at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena—have featured a lineup of Danzig and founding bassist Jerry Only along with early guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein and new arrivals Dave Lombardo (drums) and Acey Slade (rhythm guitar).
