Room/Show Packages Available at Aquarius for ZZ Top Concert Rock icons ZZ Top will make an appearance at the Aquarius Casino Resort’s Outdoor Amphitheater on Sunday, September 5 at 9 p.m. Tickets for the one-night concert are available beginning at $45 plus tax. One lucky winner will leave the show with a 12X40 autographed billboard of the group. Every aceIPLAY card member will receive a free swipe at the kiosk for a chance to win the billboard drawing and for every 25 base points earned during slot play gives you another shot. Purchasing concert tickets will also result in an additional five entries and booking the room/show package deal for $369.99 plus tax entitles you to an extra 25 entries. Riverside Resort Celebrating 44th Anniversary Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort is celebrating its 44th Anniversary all month long and in celebration the Riverside is offering “Anniversary Cash Wednesdays” drawings through September 1. At 7 p.m. in the South Tower Promotions Area, three winners will be selected at each drawing with the winners being awarded $4,400. Slot and table players can earn drawing tickets for points earned through reel, video poker and keno play and two hours of tracked table play. Coming up August 31-September 2, the Riverside continues with the anniversary promotions with “Our 44th Year Slot and Video Poker Tournaments” paying out a total of $37,899 in the combined events. Never one to sit idol, Don Laughlin is currently putting the finishing touches on an outdoor concert arena on top of the parking garage with comedian Bill Engvall scheduled to be the first performer taking center stage on Saturday, September 18. Tickets are priced at $35, $45 and $60. Country-western favorite Sara Evans will be featured on Saturday, October 2 with tickets going for $45, $60 and $80. Heading into the new amphitheater will be Michael Bolton on Saturday, October 16. Tickets are available for $35, $45 and $70. All shows begin at 8:30 p.m. Aquarius Buffet Gets a new Look A new look for the Aquarius Casino Resort’s popular Window on the River Buffet with the finishing touches completed on their remodel. You will now find expanded seating and a completely new menu that includes complimentary wine, champagne or margaritas for guests 21 and older. As always, aceIPLAY members receive a 25% discount everyday. Pioneer Hosting “Wide Open Miniature Golf Tournament” For year, the Pioneer has been home to a fun golf tournament and they are putting the final preparations on their “Wide Open Miniature Golf Tournament” set for September 16-19. The two day event is not played on a regulation golf course; instead, the engineering staff at the property spends tireless hours in constructing a special course both indoors and outdoors. The entry fee is $350 and this comes with a four-day/three-night stay, meal coupons, a welcome gift and two rounds of miniature golf. While it helps to be skillful if you want to take home some of the cash prizes being awarded, many entrants just play for the fun, but the cash payouts are very generous. The first place golfer takes home $7,000; 2nd place-$3,500; and 3rd place receives $1,800 with additional cash being paid down to 75th place. Daily flight winners receive $50 Xtra credit free play. Sin City Burlesque Among the Entertainment Choices set for the Riverside Entertainment gets a little racy at the Riverside this month with Sin City Burlesque hitting the stage September 1-5. This Vegas-style revue features top female dancers, one hilarious comedian, specialty acts and a terrific sexy female vocalist. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are priced at $30. Coming up September 7-12 is Don Rose back with his Tribute to the King, a major production for Elvis fans. Show time is 8 p.m. with tickets going for $27. Up next is another Riverside favorite, Doug Kershaw “The Ragin Cajun” who will perform his eclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz, country and Cajun music September 14-19. Tropicana Giving out the Loot in this week’s Slot Tournament Spend just $30 and be one of the entrants in the Tropicana’s “Hot August Slots $20,000 Slot Tournament” August 27-29. Registration takes place on Friday, August 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the special events registration area. On Saturday, August 28, the fun begins with players hitting the machine buttons in two five-minute rounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash prizes include a $5,000 prize for 1st place; 2nd place receives $2,500; and 3rd place is awarded $1,000 with those finishing in the remaining 95 spots also cashing in on prize money.
